Thank you all for contributing in various ways to help shape the event.
Tonight, we will have a dinner at a restaurant in the city. We will be leaving from the campus at 18:15, and we will be taking a tram together. You don't need to worry about the tram tickets, as we will be taking care of that for everyone. If you’d prefer to head to the city on your own, please meet us at the restaurant around 19:00 (location).
Ready for another morning run? 🏃
Join us tomorrow (Thursday) at 7:00 AM! We’re meeting at the Faculty main entrance and sticking to a route similar to Tuesday’s.
❄️ Bonus Challenge: Some brave souls are heading to Zakrzówek for an icy plunge! Whether you want to run, swim, or just watch the madness, we all start together from the Faculty. See you there!
After having a dinner in the city come and joins us for a beer in Nowy Kraftowy at the Kazimierz District (location). We meet there at 20:00.
For those of you that want to join the Collegium Maius excursion, we meet at 14:30 by the posters in the central point of the conference. We will get to the museum together by tram. If you’d prefer to head to the city on your own - we can meet at Collegium Maius around 15:15.
At 14:30, a bus will be waiting for us by the side of the Faculty building (after leaving the building, turn right and walk about 100 m). There is no fixed program at the museum — you simply enjoy playing classic retro arcade machines. We will spend approximately 2 hours inside, but the tickets allow unlimited playtime.
After the visit, the bus will take us back to the Campus, with an additional stop in the Old City (approximate location). From there, you can visit Wawel Castle, take a walk around the historical center, or explore the Kazimierz district.
If anyone wishes to stay longer in the museum (or leave earlier), you can catch tram 22 from the nearby stop “Gałczyńskiego” (direction West). After 12 stops, you will reach “Stradom”, located between the Old City and Kazimierz. From there, you can switch to trams 18 or 52, which will take you directly to the Campus (stop “Norymberska”).
Please check whether you already have all the documents you need. If not, please let us know via the conference email. On Wednesday, the conference office will be open from 12:00 to 12:30 in the Registration Room. Please come at that time to collect any printed documents you may need.
Come visit the Faculty’s Museum of Old Computers, located just beneath Lecture Room A. There will be three guided visits on Wednesday around noon. Please sign up, by the main board with the SOFSEM updates.
The exercise session has been moved to a more collaboration‑friendly space in room 1016. Please join the group departing from the main conference area. You can also ask locals for directions or take a moment to crack the building’s room-numbering system.
Be prepared for a modern mild Polish winter. After a frosty Monday, daytime temperatures are expected to range from 0–10°C (32–50°F). Light rain might show up on Tuesday and Friday. Daytime appears to follow a stable pattern with about 9 hours and 49 minutes of daylight on 9 February, and it continues increasing steadily.
Just a quick reminder that this Tuesday (February 10th), is our Pizza and board games party. We’ll have pizza, table football and some games, but we highly encourage you to bring some board games with you to the conference! See you at 18:30 in the faculty building.
We will meet at 7:00 a.m. at the main entrance to the Faculty building. The planned route of 6.23km leads through the campus area and around the lake, with a brief detour to the statue of the King (see route). The pace will be easy; those who prefer a more intense workout may run additional loops around the lake.
Come for a glass of university wine and some cold snacks. You can also use the occasion to hone your table‑football, table‑tennis, or other gaming skills before Tuesday’s board games party!
